- Spelling
- Use Spelling to check the spelling of a highlighted word, text chain
- or entire document. Choosing Spelling displays a submenu that
- contains three entries:
- Word — checks the word at the current text insertion point (or
- start of a highlighted range). Word is available when a text box is
- active.
- Text Chain — checks all words in the current text chain. It is
- available when a text box is active.
- Word spelling is verified by scanning the 120,000-word
- MacPublisher dictionary.
- When Spelling is chosen, a dialog box is displayed with a list of
- words that are similar in spelling to the word in question. If the word
- is correctly spelled, it is highlighted in the list.
- To replace the word with another in the list: Select the word in the
- list and click Replace, or double-click on the replacement.
- When Text Chain or Document is chosen, the Word Count dialog
- box is displayed listing the total number of words scanned, and the
- number of unique and suspect words. Click OK to continue.
- If suspect words are found, another dialog box is displayed showing
- the first suspect word:
- To get a list of suggested spellings: Click Lookup. To replace the
- suspect word with one in the list, select the word in the list and click
- Replace or double-click on the replacement.
- To leave the suspect word unchanged: Click Skip.
- To change the suspect word: Enter a replacement in the Replace
- with field or select a word from the list and click Replace.
- To abort the spelling check: Click Cancel.
